Rich crimson red with a bouquet of black cherry with slight vanilla spice & hints of black tea, invigorating acidity balanced with fine-grained tannins and a long aftertaste.


95% Sangiovese 5% Ancellotta

With the intensity of the fruit they were able to follow a more pronounced barrel program, using both new and second pass barrels. They have found that the larger 300 liter barrels create the most elegant Riserva. The goal is to allow the oak aroma to marry perfectly with the rich fruit notes in the wine.This wine aged for a year in large wine casks to ensure that our delicate fruit notes were not overpowered by the oak tannins. Their goal was to create a wine that reflects our terroir and has the structure to be cellared long after its release.

18 months in 300 liter French oak barrels, 50% new and 50% second pass, then another 6 months in 1500 liter traditional wine casks


The vineyards of Capaccia benefit from their high altitude and cooler nights. The ability to slow down the maturation allows for the development of more complex phenolic compounds. The bouquet possesses the dark fruit notes that only come with a long and healthy grape ripening.
